Forever Friends

I had some dear friends visit last weekend and it was so SO good.  Like most people I enjoy making new friends, but really, there is nothing like an old friend who has "done life" with you.  Dan and Mary are like a favorite worn blanket on a cold day...so comfortable and familiar.  I love them dearly.  It was such a blessing to have them "swing by" on their way home to Texas from Disney World.

I've known Danny since high school and Mary since college.  They have weathered many storms in their lives and I have learned so much from their example of grace under pressure.  The last time I saw them, a few years ago in California, they had left their kids at home with the grandparents.  They have four children and until this last weekend I had only met the two oldest.  What sweet, fun little people they are!

Our dear friend Kimberly lives a few miles away from me (one of the biggest reasons I was so excited for Todd's job transfer!) so she and two of her kiddoes joined us here at our home for a get-together.  Unfortunately, her hubby and oldest son were home sick.  They were missed!

Kimberly and Danny and I went to high school together and then we all went to college together...where we met Mary.  To think that I've known them all for more than half of my life is just crazy...in a good way, of course!

Now if we could just get Dan and Mary to move to Georgia....oh, what fun we would have!

Kaylee, Jackson, Tyler and Josh (Dan and Mary's kids)
Soren and Nolan (my crazy boys)
Camden and Capo (Kimberly's kids)
